Botinicals Gift shop, Studio & Gallery is a unique little gift shop in downtown Fredericton, N.B., and it's no longer the City's best kept secret.

The shop opened Dec. 5th, 1994 featuring only handmade Arts & Crafts by 11 New Brunswick artisans and the Metal Floral arrangements (Botinicals) by owner John Welling.
Over the years Botinicals has become the go to destination for handmade local Arts & Crafts in Fredericton.

In 2005 - Our 10th Anniversary, Botinicals received the "Small Business Award" from the Fredericton Chamber of Commerce. That same year the gardens behind the shop were featured in an 8 page spread in the Canadian Gardening Magazine. We also had write-ups in "Wish" and East Coast Magazine. What an anniversary year! Tin is the metal for the 10th anniversary, and what a great one it's been. If that's not enough, we also introduced a new line of flowers, all silver in apperance, no pots or paint.

March of 2006 we opened a second shop on Queen Street in the downtown core. This was part of a transition to move into the downtown even more.

2007 the shop was nominated and won "Retailer of the Year" at the Atlantic Craft Trade Show in Halifax, N.S.

2009 Botinicals celebrated its 15 year anniversary and John celebrated his 25th year with his craft as a metal smith. Wanting to put more focus on the Queen street shop, we closed the Shore Street location.

2010 & 2011 Botinicals won "Top 5 Retailers in Atlantic Canada by the Atlantic Craft Trade Show in Halifax, N.S.

Canada Day 2011 we expanded doubling the size of the shop at 610 Queen Street.

The shop now features over 50 of Atlantic Canada finest production & one-of-a-kind artisans with a focus on New Brunswick.

I believe in what I am doing! I truly love it! Botinicals will continue to be a strong part of the Fine Art & Craft movement throughout the Maritimes.

The very best,

John L. Welling.
